Mollusca

 Molluscs live in terrestrial, marine and fresh water environments. Snail, Bivalva, Chiton, Slug, Cuttle fish and Octopus are some examples for Molluscs.

Yeast

 Yeast is a single-celled microorganism that is a member of the Fungi kingdom. Yeast is found in nature and within our bodies ; it consumes sugar and produces by-products such as carbon dioxide, alcohol, and other chemical compounds. Yeast is an essential in baking, brewing, and winemaking.



Uses of Yeast 

In food manufacture, yeast is used to cause fermentation and leavening. the fungi feed on sugars, producing alcohol ( ethanol ) and carbon dioxide; in beer and wine manufacture the former is the desired product, in baking it is the latter.








Emperor Penguins

 


One of the most known flightless birds. Adult emperor penguins have a white stomach, a black head, back, tails and wings. They also have yellow-gold markings on the side of their head and neck. They have a distinctive waddling walk owing to their heavy bodies and short legs. On average, they measure 115cm in height. The emperor penguins are only found in Antarctica. They mostly feed on fish, squid and krill. The male emperor penguins are in charge of keeping the eggs safe and warm. They do so by balancing the egg on their feet and covering it with its feathered skin. They are very skilled swimmers and divers.



*Hidden Beauties in India

 India, the largest country in the South Asian region is well known for its diversity in cultures, great personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore and for place like Agra and the Himalays. It is a less known fact that this subcontinent is also rich with a number of places with enchanting scenic beauty that attracts both local and foreign tourists.

Nohkilakai Falls 

Nohkilakai falls in Cherrapunji is one such place hidden within the dense forests in the East Khasi mountains in the state of Meghalaya. Cherrapunji is one of the wettest areas in the world with an annual rainfall about 1176 cm. This is the tallest plunge waterfall in India and is fed by the water collected in the plateau above. The pool below has unusually greenish water which makes it more attractive.

Bellum Cave 

Bellum Caves in Andrapradesh is another site with a major tourist attraction. With an approximate length about 3.5km, it is the longest and the largest cave in India. It is made of black limestone and formed by the constant flow of underground water. There are also deposits of quartz. They are well known for the stalactite and stalagmite formations. There are long passages, spacious chambers, fresh water pools and siphons. The deepest point is 150 feet from the entrance level is called "Pataalaganga", which means the river in the underworld.

Sigiriya

 Sigiriya is 40 miles away from Anuradhapura. It is like a cultural museum, famous all over the world. Sigiriya rock appears like a lion when you look from far away. This Sigiriya fortress was built by King Kashyapa who lived there. Kashyapa killed his father to get the kingship. His brother Mugalan collected an army against him. It is said that, to escape from his brother, Kashyapa built this fortress.

Even today you can see the ruins of the place built on Sigiriya. How the building materials were taken to the top of the rock is still unknown. It was marvellous deed as even modern machinary cannot do it. It is considered as one of the wonders of the world.

King Kashyapa was a man of fine art. You can see it from the Sigiriya Frescoes, second only to Ajantha in India. This was painted in 8th century and still in a good condition. Females depicted on the wall are extremely beautiful.

The graffiti written later on the Mirror Wall by visitors are beautifully composed. The Mirror Wall has been made with polished stones. Some Say this was built to see the invading armies. The pond on the top of the rock is another wonderful thing. Even today foreigners are getting astonished when they see these miracles. If you go to the top of the Sigiriya you see that you are on the top of the world. You can enjoy the panorama miles away from there.

Laksha Industry in Sri Lanka

* Laksha industry is one of the oldest and traditional industries in Sri Lanka. According to the folklore,     Laksha artisans were among on eighteen castes who came to this country when Sri Maha Bodi               arrived.

Laksha is obtained from the larvae of the Laksha insect, which live in the trees such as kappetiya and thalakiriya. Laksha colors are made by mixing Laksha with green and yellow by mixing with Sadilingam.

They used natural  materials for this progress. Even though stuff that comes out from the Laksha insect is colourless, they add various colours and make them colourful. ..... The colours of the campaign  which going be used are warm colours.

 What do you mean by movie ?

A film ,also known as a "movie" or a " motion picture", is a series of moving images  shown on  a screen, usually with sound, that make up a story. The movie itself is a film, and you can also use the word to mean  the photographic strip of plastic that runs through a camera and captures the film's images.

What is the difference between a film & a movie ?

A film  attempts to convey or explore something larger than itself. A movie is about giving the audience exactly what they want. A film forces the audience to grow in some way, to leave the theater slightly better humans than when they came in.

What is a movie purpose ?

Film is used for a range of goals, including education and propaganda. When the purpose is primarily educational, a film is called an 'educational film'.
